History of Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye is the furthest North and largest of the major islands in the inner Hebrides. It is the second largest island in Scotland. Around 39.7% of the population can speak Gaelic making it a Gaelic stronghold. The main industries are tourism, fishing, forestry and agriculture. The climate is wet, windy and mild. The population of Skye is around 10,000 people.
